Mission Statement
As a contribution to the
Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, it is our mission to promote
lasting relationships and opportunities between students, alumni, and friends of
Elon University through the creation of a student-driven entrepreneurial
ecosystem. SEED will work with
appropriate on and off campus organizations to promote entrepreneurial thinking
and activities.
Our History
Spring 2009
The first meeting of SEED was in February
2009. We had a great turnout and planned some of the events
for the semester. Our first event was the Elon Innovation
Challenge. It was a huge success with Alpha Omicron Pi
submitting the winning video of "The Ticket to Freedom."
(video below)
We also hosted the Extreme Entrepreneurship
Tour (www.ExtremeTour.org)
and had numerous speakers come to campus. Summer Curtiss '10
was elected President of SEED and Gary Palin served as advisor.
The Beginning
In the Fall of 2008, a few business students
decided to get together to create an Entrepreneurship organization.
They started the Elon Entrepreneur & Ventureship Organization.
This organization is the predecessor to SEED.
